Based on a true story, the play is set in 1985, during an attempted climb in the Peruvian Andes. Here, during the descent, the climbers Joe Simpson and Simon Yates were victims of an accident which caused Joe to fall off a cliff; To avoid the risk of falling together with his companion, Simon is forced to cut the climbing rope. The story develops between past and present, between passion, guilt, friendship and resilience. Time and space blur, posing a constant question to the public: what would we have done in Simon's place? Performed for the first time in Italy, the text by Scottish playwright David Greig, reviewed very positively by international critics, is a profound reflection on the theme of choices, ethical and otherwise, that surround events.
Written by David Greig. Translation by Monica Capuani. With Lodo Guenzi, Eleonora Giovanardi, Giovanni Anzaldo, Matteo Gatta. Directed by Silvio Peroni.
